6,800 People Sign Save Hastings Post Office Petition

sarah_owen_post_office_petitionOver 6,800 people are backing Sarah Owen's campaign to save the post office in Hastings.

The campaign to stop the closure and relocation of Hastings Crown Post Office was started by Sarah, Labour's Hastings and Rye parliamentary candidate, in February.

Sarah delivered the Save Hastings Post Office petition on November 18th to the Post Office Ltd headquarters in London and says it shows how strong opposition is to the move.

Sarah said, "I would like to thank the thousands of people, businesses and community groups who got behind our local campaign to save Hastings' Post Office.

"Today was about ensuring that Post Office Ltd took on board the level of opposition against this move and I was pleased that they agreed to take the 6800 strong postcard petition as part of their consultation.

"For the good of the local economy, customers and the post office staff, I hope they listen and change their minds."
