Labour’s Naushabah Khan is backing Labour’s plans to enshrine the Military Covenant in the NHS Constitution.
The pledge follows reports that medical experts who treat injured soldiers have said the Conservative led Government is not meeting its obligations to veterans.
Labour has pledged to enshrine the principles of the Military Covenant in the NHS Constitution to ensure that serving personnel and veterans receive the best possible care and are treated with the respect their bravery deserves
Naushabah Khan, parliamentary candidate in Rochester & Strood, said: “My mum works for the Royal Engineers here in Brompton and I have seen first-hand the incredible contribution and sacrifice that our Armed Forces make for our country.
“It is therefore vital that, in their time of need, we provide them with the treatment and care they are entitled to. I know that this announcement and pledge will be welcomed by many of the service men and women that are based in Rochester and Strood.”
